Default Side Scoop

Well heres the story...

I was riding down the highway and then out of the blue I heard this pop noise and then my car going over a bump of some kind. I took a look in the rear view and saw a black something in the middle of the road. I came out of work later this evening and found out that the side scoop on my drivers side is gone. I am sooo annoyed. Any good place I can get a OEM/AM replacement thats already painted/clear coated? Please help!!

I called the dealer and found out for everything (clips, boot and planel) will cost $135.69 + tax (have to paint myself). I also spoke to the guy that did my car around a year ago and hopefully, from what he says, it will be replaced "free" of charge. I have to see him tomorrow morning and I will let everyone know the results.

Just a FYI. The part number for the panel/scoop is 4R3Z63279D37CPTM (Paint to match)

I knocked one off my '03 but it just popped back on.

hope your body guy replaces it.

Try a junkyard if you have to paint it anyway. Then you can get all the clips and the little piece of insulation that goes underneath it to cover the hole in the body.

I hope so too. I will let everyone know though.

Just in case, does anyone know of any good junk yards in, or around, the Essex/New Jersey area?

This is what it looks like now:

Is it ok to leave it like that maybe for a few days? What happens if it rains/snows, will this be ok?

It's ok to leave it, it's just really ugly. They aren't water-tight, so water gets down in there normally anyway... it should be fine.

Yeah just go to a junk yard and find a stang of the same color and yank the scoop

i doubt youre gonna find a new edge in a junkyard unless it was totally destroyed. the newest stang ive ever seen in a junkyard was a 95 gt, and the whole thing was melted from an engine fire. the only thing worth salvaging was the rims, which were takin 15min after it was dumped in the lot.
