How can I tell if my car has a superchip.I have a 94 Gt. I paid someone to install one and I didnt notice too much of a difference. where do i look? i was under the assumption the passenger side kick panel needs to come off? thanks guys!

 

You won't feel a difference unless you're heavily modded. The chip does not make a difference! It is the tune that is on the chip that makes a difference. If you're not heavily modded, a re-tune is a waste of money. The ONLY reason to get an aftermarket chip is for some capability your factory chip does not have (mainly, multiple banks for storing multiple tunes, with an ability to swtich between them on the fly).

Your ECU will be behind the passenger side kick panel.

 

I had a hypertech chip in my '94. It was installed permanently in the service port of the ECU that is behind the kick panel that was mentioned. I did notice a difference although very slight with no mods to the car. I must say that it was a waste of money. I got pretty much the same increase by just advancing the timing to utililize premium fuel. The other thing that I didn't like about the chip was that it was designed to be used with a 160 degree therm....in New England that isn't practical since I drive the car year round. I took it out and ebayed it for $50.
