Default What does everyone think?

I would like to thank everyone for helping me out this far....

This spring/summer I will install (or most likely have someone do it for me) these kits. I currently have a 01 GT automatic.

*TransGO shift kit ($178.00)
*B&M trans cooler (Racing Trans Cooler - 28k - $70.00)
*Diablo tuner ($399.99)
*3.73 gears ($179.99)
*Densecharger CAI ($165)

Now this should cost me about $1200 or so to do everything (including pro install). What does everyone think?

Agreed... Heres a good tuner /gear combo kit http://mustangtuning.com/predator-410-gear-oil-kit.html If you order it, be sure to use the discount code "mustangboards" It will save you 6% on your purchase.

The decrease in gas mileage isn`t that bad. Anyway, who cares about gas mileage? If you have a mustang and need to worry about gas mileage, than maybe you should buy a hybrid honda instead. [&:]

I think I read 3.73s are better for auto than 4.10s, thats the reason why I picked that. Is this wrong? Also, whats the max MPH you can go with 4.10s/3.73s?

Because 99% of the people here have no or very little real world experiance and just go by what they heard from their Uncle who used to be into car back in the day. The fact is with a modern overdrive trans 4.10's will have an increase of about 200 rpms at a givin speed and usually end up giving slightly better in town milage and slighty worse on the highway.

Personally I prefer 3.73's. I drove a roush with 4.10's and didn't notice much of an increase off the line than my 3.73's. It also seemed as though the rpm's were much higher on the highway than before. I feel too that I had to shift way too much in the city. It is a personal opinion which gear to go with, but I would suggest going with the 4.10's for your automatic if you don't mind the small decrease in gas mileage and the higher rpm's. I think 3.73's are more for the novice driver because of the mechanical advantage creates problems with shifting at the drag strip. If you aren't a very good driver you will have problems with shifting 3 times instead of two in the quarter mile. Isn't everything on this site personal opinion anyways? I thought that was the point. Besides, you can go to one person and ask them a question and they will give you an answer, but the same question to another guy will result in a totally different answer. But hey! That's only one persons opinion.
