Default Emissions

I had a buddy of mine tell me that I am wasting my time and power by leaving in all of my smog parts (egr, smog pump, etc...) on my 94 GT. I don't have to have my car tested where I have it registered, so I was wondering if it would be worth losing it & what all would I have to do, or should I just leave it alone because it won't add that much. Thanks for any input.

You may not have to have it tested regularly, but if you get pulled over, ANY cop has the right to look and see if you have the smog crap installed. Some states provide for the confiscation of vehicles with missing/modified smog equipment. The decision is yours, but keep that in mind.

EDIT...
I just saw where you live. And if you drive into California, they won't give a crap where your car is registered. If the smog gear is missing/modified, and a cop does inspect, you will be in trouble.

Default RE: Emissions

Unless you're doing something crazy w/ your mods, your not gonna benefit from that much gain by removing the emissions gear. If anything you'll prolly give yourself more headaches b/c you've removed things that are controled by the ecm and will be setting the CEL for ya.

Even w/ all my mods, w/ the exception of my cats, All my emissions stuff is still on the car and in working order. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.
