ok i have a 89 mustang gt when it is idling the engine sounds smooth but when u put it in gear and go down the road it is a different story when u first take off it is fine but as soon as u get down on it there is a knocking it is not loud enough to be a rod but it doesnt sound like a valve either there is also a loss in power and oil pressure since this has been going on also the sound is in the motor it has nothing to do with the transmission or clutch so if u have any ideas what it could be please reply i was wondering if there is way to fix the problem with out rebuilding

knocking with loss of oil pressure on acceleration would be enough for me to pull the engine.
