just so you know in GA traffic violations are misdemeanors...this means you could technically go to prison for speeding or running a stop sign...and 24 over is reckless....

if you stay 10 miles an hour or less over the limit youll normally be fine...city and county cops cant even cite for less than 10mph over except in certain places.... OCGA 40-14-8

http://law.justia.com/codes/georgia/...0/40-14-8.html

i dont see anything about tinting your taillights under the taillight code... O.C.G.A. § 40-8-23 http://law.justia.com/codes/georgia/...art-2/40-8-23/

if you want to search more vehicle codes are under title 40 http://www.lexisnexis.com/hottopics/gacode/Default.asp

Oh wow. Thanks man ^

I was fortunate enough to retain my license in both cases. Its not like I was doing it on purpose I just was paying more attention to everything but my speed. I watch it a lot more closely now though since the tickets. The day I got the second one I was on my way to court for the first.. but yeah..

I still have not tinted my tail lights for not wanting to deal with cops. If I do I think I will go for the tint film because it looks cleaner than the spray.

The law in georgia is you have to be able to see the taillights from 300 ft during the day in direct sun light and 500 ft at night. When I had my 2003 GT I used VHT nightshades, the can said 3 coats which I did not feel was dark enough ended up doing 8. I only got pulled over one time in 3 years for them and the cop was just letting me know I was right at the limit. In your other thread you said you live off barnes rd. You most likely saw my car It was redfire metallic with a black stock hood with tinted everything.

Yeah I read that online. But no I didn't say that on the other thread. I live in Loganville in Gwinnett County.

JayyVee is the one that said that. But yeah.. I still haven't done it but I might. Still debating it.

I'm an officer in South Georgia and new to Mustang Forums. Georgia laws says that your lights have to be red, in working condition and visible for up to 500 feet away. The only thing that officers generally don't like as far as being tinted or covered is a tag. That is strictly enforced because the officer may not be able to read the tag properly which is a safety issue.

I'm not trying to be a butt or anything but how could the tag being covered be a safety issue? I could see the windows and taillights being too dark as a saftey issue for both driver and officer but not the tag?

I think I'm getting these for Christmas. Do you think they would be okay in Ga? They are already tinted a little bit.

YOU NEVER KNOW WHO YOU ARE STOPPING. IF THE VEHICLE WAS JUST INVOLVED IN A BANK ROBBERY AND THEY ALREADY SENT OUT A BOLO FOR THAT VEHICLE, YOU WANNA MAKE SURE THAT YOU SEE AN E INSTEAD OF AN F.

AS FAR AS THE WINDOWS, I PERSONALLY DONT MIND THEM BEING DARK. JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU ROLL THEM DOWN BEFORE I GET TO YOUR CAR, SO THAT I CAN SEE YOU AND WHATEVER ELSE IS IN YOUR CAR THAT MIGHT BE A THREAT TO ME.
