Tranny Lifetime question
Alright, I realize now, after my previously silly lifetime question, that it's all about variables. Nonetheless, I'm curious if anybody has any succinct idea about how long a stock GT automatic transmission can be expected to survive.
I assume these"tunes"/"dyno-tunes" I've been reading about will affect tansmission lifetime expectancy as well? As will, of course, driving style and environment (i.e. outside temperature, time spent it traffic, red lines, etc.) But my sources, a body guy, says I ought to get 150,000 miles out of it, stock.
Just out of curiosity, how long until a clutch plate on a mildly driven manual needs to be replaced?
Also, what do suppose the cost will be about the time a replacement is necessary?
thanks!

RE: Tranny Lifetime question
anywhere for 2grand to 5 for a new tranny, that would be a upgraded one with better durability. as for how long will it last, i couldnt really tell you that.. aslong as you are just normal driving and not drag racing this thing i dont really see a tune effecting it much if at all.
