Default Disable DRL's?!?

Hello everyone, first post please forgive! In canada and trying to disable the daytime running lights on my 05. Doesn't seem to be a DRL module, relay of fuse like the previous stangs. Just wondering if anyone know's how to disable them without cutting wires cause i started that and it just didn't work!! I'm thinking it's a code problem that can likely be tuned but i can't find ANY info on it. any help is much appreciated eh!!

daytime running lights??? my 05 has no such thing. its a rotating switch that selects "off" "parking lights" and "head lights", and if you pull it out toward you it turns on "fog lights"

I would not try to disable DRL if you have them on yours (new option?)...will most likely turn into an unnecessary headache

Yeah, sorry. I guess they are required up there in Canada, eh?
Not down here. Don't know how you'd go about doing it though.
Good Luck!

Yeah i have the same switch for park lights and ligths... pull ouf for fog. the problem is that any time the car is running with the e brake off it has driving lights that operate at a reduced voltage. it is a requirement in canada for manufacturers to put them on new vehicles but there are many parties who are opposed to them. presonally i don't see the need for them and like the look of them off, hence the post. previous mustangs had a DRL module behind the headlight on the drivers side that could be unplugged and problem fixed, not that easy on an 05 though from what i can see. I read in a post on another form for a person moving to canada and was looking for the "7 digid code to enable them", why i thought it was computer related. anyway if anyone stumbles accross how to get rid of them throw it my way.

I don't know if this will help but on a previous car I had many people disabled the DRLs. To disable it, there was a module in the engine compartment that you just unplugged. Maybe try asking Ford if they can tell you of the location of the module? -Joe

In a 2006 Mustang GT I imported from the US, I had to provide the dealer with the seven digit Import Form 1 number. They in turn used the WDM to get into the SJB and call the hotline with the import # for directions and a code. Once they entered the code the DRL's came on. Its all in the programming and I doubt that a Canadian Dealer would turn DRL's off as it contravenes Canadian regulations.
