Default 2005 GT DRL

Hi there,

I know someone who imported a 2005 GT from the states to Portugal (where i'm livin').
Now, this specific gt came with DRL installed ( Daytime Running Lights ), in my country we're NOT legally obliged to have DRL installed so my question is: Is it possible, and how to DISABLE DRLs ?????

I'm posting this question together with a technician from a ford dealer in Portugal, and we do not have the service manuals with information about this. (makes sense, since this is a vehicle not comercialised in our country)

I'm sick of searching the web for answers,

If any expert in this area would care for answering, I'd really appreciate, thnkx.

Are you sure it was a 2005 Mustang GT? I have never seen any WITH DRL. I hate that "feature" and I have been very careful to never buy a car with it. Maybe it is enabled for certain states that require it?

It should be comforting to you to know that some do not have DRL, you should be able disable it somehow.

I really don't know why they sent a model with DRL , yet, the question remains!

How can DRL feature be DISABLED?

I don't expect an easy answer, but I'd like to have it, as complicated and technical as it might be!

Thnxs once more for your attention guys.

If I remember right, DRLs are an option. I think I saw 'em in a Ford brochure while I was cooling my heels at the dealership. But just 'cause that damn brochure says something is available, don't mean it really is! I've been wanting a factory locking gas cap, but the parts guy says it's made of Unobtainium right now. And the car's been out for almost half a year![:@]

I don't know if you guys have it as an option or not,

What I really need is to disable them, I really don't have a clue how to. If someone would care to ask around in your local dealer or something it would be great, because this is my last resort for an answer...
