If you are gonna supercharge your car, you have to be willing to accept a blown engine. Anyone who thinks they can supercharge a car and expect to get 100k miles without problems is naive.
I dont about 100K, but i do know of several cars and trucks with 50, 60, 70K miles on them and used regularly, occasional racing and towing for the trucks. If you beat on it without properly maintaining the engine and proper tuning you'll blow up a n/a engine as well.

i agree that you should always be prepared as soon as you start modding anything, but 450rwhp should not be an issue for these cars with a good tune. beyond that you need to make sure you take proper precautions...if your are pushing the boost you need to run higher octane..minimum 105 octane, plenty of fuel delivery (injectors, BAP, GT pump), cooler plugs, increased cooling, etc...

enjoy the boost

Great numbers but the torque seems a little low to me for the whipple.... any comments why?

Edit - never miind - the torque is right. I had to download the form and print it out cause I couldn't make out the colors on my screen - was confusing the color graphs. Very impressive numbers for psi...

BOOOM!![sm=WTFsgign.gif] the sound of your connecting rod exiting the engine[:@]

from what everyone has been saying all over the forum. When you pass aprox. 425 hp you have to get a forged bottom end. The stock motor cann't take it. So you may want to back off the boost or take it real easy.

STILL, those are very impressive numbers[sm=gears.gif]
yeah that is exactly what I was thinking...

talk to ChevyKiller about what boost and 500+ HP does...I think he's on like is 3rd or 4th engine.

Go into my computer and select Tools>Folder options
Go to the view tab and as you scroll down one of the options says "Hide extensions for known file types"
Uncheck that box and hit "Ok"

Your file should now say:
"filename.zap"
instead of just:
"filename"

Right click on the file and select "Rename"

change the .zap to .zip and then extract your files.

We change our zip files to .zap as well so that they will pass through the firewall.

504/469 on 11psi and stock other than kit?

right thurr is some good #s

these #'s are from a dyno jet....the usually inflate #'s about 14%compared to the mustang dyno (which is much more accurate because it takes weight, wind speed, and other factors into accout that a dyno jet can't) so it really makes about 434whp which is still very nice but more in the safe range for a stock motor

I think he is just trying to tell everyone that their Whipple Superchargers are terrific for adding a substantial amount of horse and torque.

EXACTLY!!!!!!

I am a big fan of whipple and the fact that it says Ford Racing right on it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling LOL.

I have seen the pistons and rods and all I have to say is it's usually alot easier to build up an engine BEFORE it throws a rod or breaks a piston.
