Default Keeping MPG Low (and some other mods)

I was surprised with the MPG on my car when I came home today after a little drive in Long Island (saw a pretty bad accident on the Southern State Parkway, about 5-6 cars involved)! The reason I went out was because I was filling up with 89 octane gas, changing the tune on my car and "testing" it.

When I got home the MPG was 27.

Anyways, here are the other mods:
Prestige alarm system with remote start and that little pager thingy that lets you know if someone is trying to break into the vehicle.
Pioneer Avic-D1 navigation system with Ipod adapter (MP3/CD player, getting it to play DVDs while in motion next week).
New RF amp, tweeters, and subwoofer box

I wanted to but there were too many cops and troopers running around last night, probably because of the accident.

Just a little tip. Dont trust the electonric readout of what mpg you are getting. It's much more accurate to figure it yourself.

Yeah, I know, I think that dash readout has gone nuts since yesterday, when I got to work today the readout was 28MPG, I know I really wasn't pushing the car hard this morning and it was all highway driving, but that was still kinda high though! If anything it should have gone down a bit because with this new stereo system I always have the volume higher than with the stock Shaker 500, and the subwoofer box is a bit heavy too.
