I've yet to be 55, I'm 49. My 06 is personally my 1st Mustang, though when me and my with were married 5yrs ago, she had a 71 Grande. As I browsed thru this thread, I was shocked to see the Professor's 69 Torino, as I too had one very close to that, except mine was a 68, same body, color, black vinyl top. Mine had a 428 CJ, Auto, Bench seat. Wish I kept it, very quick and powerful. Never came across another one in that body style, most were fastbacks.
ORIGINAL: Professor Wizard

I turned 51... TODAY... so I'm on the edge for this thread.

I didn't have a stang, but many of my friends did.... Instead I had a 69 Torino Cobra GT... I liked cars a little larger then the stang back then.

I'm 37 and have owned three previous ponies. Have two now along with the 7 other cars I have. The first was a 67 that I restored then got hit the day before I left for basic training.(the guy had no insurance I took the loss.)68 coupe nothin specialabout it. and a 70 302 fastback. They were all gone by 1986-87. Then always wanted another and then I ordered my 05 gt.I tried to get it as close to my first one the silver 67. Also my wife bought herself a beautiful dark moss green restored 67 coupe. Now i want to build a 67 just like the one I had.

1st Post:

I'm 36 and my 06 is my second mustang. My first car was a white 85 GT. If I remember
right, it was THE fastest production car thar year according to either road & track or
motor trend. Sold it to raise money for my wedding at the ripe old age of 20. The 85 is
gone but 16 years later she's still with me AND now I have mustang again. I don't think
I'll be selling this one for anything if I can help it.

I am 60 years old, ordered a 2006 GT convertible. This is the first car I ever ordered. My first Mustang was a 1985 GT hatchback (still own it). Had a '97 GT 'vert (rear ended and was totaled). Had a 2000 GT 'vert Spring Feature Car, sold it when I got the '06. My 2006 is far and away the best car I have ever owned. All my 'Stangs have been 5 speeds.

I am 48.
Second Mustang coming this week? (06' Black GT Vert w/ Lt Graphite, 18" bullits, interior upgrade and theft) and last Ford since the enclosed 74' Mustang II in this color and version. This enclosed car was a piece of sh_t and really lived up to its Fix Or Repair Daily moniker but I was in highschool, needed a car and could fix it myself (even though the water pump went out twice and to tune you would remove 5 plugs that came out easy and the 6th was impossible) Dump it and stayed w/ Honda until now.
Cannot Wait. Drove the 06' two months ago and now waiting for the factory response........burp.

31 here, and have had a total of 4. Favorite was the 1993 Vibrant white vert. Every dollar I had went into that car. Wife made me sell it and I did knowing that I would use that as leverage to buy an 05 GT.

I'll be 35 this summer (Lord willin'). This is my second Mustang. My first was a '99 GT. My very first personal experience with a Mustang was a 1980 2.8L four-banger. It was brown and gold and not too bold. My second experience was with a '88 GT. I was in love. I first fell in love with that body style when "Spencer for Hire" came out. (Anybody remember that show?) A few years later, I met my best buddy who owned one, except it was white with the gray cladding. That car was AWESOME! After actually driving one, it was all over. But his had some work done to it, though. (We weren't aware of it at the time.) When I went looking for one of my own like his, none of them drove the same. They weren't as stiff and their clutches were like marshmallows in comparison to his. So that was the end of that.

Then I got my '99 GT. I don't really have any fond memories of that car. It was during a bad time in my life. I was going through a bad divorce from my ex-*****...err...wife. I kept it clean and put gas in it. That was about it. I bought it used. It had some Flowmaster 40-series mufflers and BOY did they sound good! I traded that car in '02 for my '02 300M Special (LOOOOVE that car and can't part from it!), and never looked back. I don't even miss it. In fact, my '05 GT owes a lot to my 300M Special for being in my garage now...
