Default Tired of losing!

I have a C&L and an SCTII tuner and my buddy has a JLT and SCTII and he puts it on me everytime we race. We both have 2006 GT's and both are 5 speeds. I can beat him out of the hole and he comes around me and pulls me in 3rd. He does have UDP on his but that is the only difference. What gives? Any ideas on anything that would help.

are your cars tuned at a shop or through the person who sold you the intakes and sct, also the udp help the motor wind up faster, i could see him pulling slightly on you but no that bad

Sorry for this being my first post and all, but I have been reading alot on this site before registering.

Now to answer the question...
He has a JLT II and he bought it straight from JLT with a canned tune on the SCTII.
Mine is a from Evolution in PA and I have the C&L CAI. My tune should be better than his tune I would think.

I do believe the JLT II puts out some more ponies then the C&L, but the JLT II is lower quality so I can see why a lot of people choose C&L. I myself have C&L. Anyway, that might be a factor, and the UDP might help too. Though it's really hard to tell. No car comes out of the factory the same. One might perform better then the other, and vice versa.

I feel like I should be closer than 2 cars with my tune compared to his canned one.
Is there any advantage to turning off the two rear O2 sensors? He does this when he races.
I understand that each car is different, but he has run at our local 1/8th a few times with a best ET of 8.47 @84.??mph w/ a 2.03 60ft. So I don't think he has a factory freak or anything.
Also my tune from Evolution doesn't give me the option to do this(turn back O2 off) if it does help. Is there any free or inexpensive mods that I can do like on the old 5.0's?

Lowering your suspension would really help and it is something you should probably do in the future, but there are probably cheaper and quicker fixes than that.

His car seems to sit lower than mine, but I climbed under his to make sure nothing was aftermarket underneath there and it wasn't unless I missed something. It may be because he ordered his car wing delete, and it looks that way for some reason.

I'd say get the UDP and EH20 Pump combo and see how that does, I think this also requires a shorter belt, but that shouldn't be costly at all. I'd say the combo with belt, would run you around the same price as your Intake and Tuner combo. Supposedly the UDP free up about 10ish rwhp, and the EH20 Pump around the same.

I have the UDP coming.
Does his times sound average for his mods?

Anyone have any cheap or free mods to do for these cars?
What are optimum shift points for my car? I do it alot by feel and sound, but if there is a perfect rpm that is reccomended then I'm willing to try it. I can shift in perfect unison with him when we race and it still ends up the same result.
