Since I want to get more power out of my stock motor but looking at forged insides and all that happy crap, I am thinking about getting a 2003 or 2004 Cobra. From what I have read and heard, they have forged insides and are good for around 575-650 on the stock block. I want a S/C really bad but I don't feel it's smart to put one on my 06 GT... So, how good is that engine? Anyone know? Would it be worth it to get a Cobra?

I test drove a 2003 Cobra while my car was getting serviced yesterday. I didn't like any of it, minus the power, which didn't feel that much different from my GT. I'd either forge your internals, or do an engine swap, but keep the 05/06.

Yea, well... lol, thats why i am going to test drive one today and see how i feel about it. But for the engine... how is that?

Thats funny because I had a 03 Cobra and sold it to get my 05 GT. It definately pulls way harder then the GT. For me personally it was too much of a gas guzzler and I like the look of the new GT hands down. Let me know what you think after you test drive it.

I'm a noob but even I know that a stock 03 Cobra will beat a stpcl 05-06 GT.

He said "it" out pulls the GT the it was the Cobra not the other way around. No doubt a stock 03-04 Cobra will pull a 05+ GT.

So i went and test drove one today and apparently it had a short throw shifter, full bassani exhaust, K&N Filter and maybe some other stuff i couldn't see. Anywho, that thing was awesome! Crazy powerful. I am going to try and sell my 06 GT Vert and get the one i drove.

I almost bought an '04 Cobra before I ordered my Vert GT. I liked them as much as you do. But, I love my new Stang! I wouldn't do it because I GUARANTEE you that it has been ridden hard and put up wet. But, your money, your car, your call! [sm=noooo.gif]

Id go with the 05-06 and supercharge with saleen or roush. They are both designed to get all that safely comes out of the 4.6 3v. But the key word is Safely. full warranty with roush. 2 yr 24 k with saleen. And I promise, my roush pulls as well as a cobra. not by a lot, but it does.
