How do you Roush owners insure your car? If you total it wont the insurance company only pay the blue book value? Do you have to get special insurance?

You should be able to get your insurance tailored to a 'set value' of the car. That's how my Saleens are insured. Because the vin in these cars shows the 'stock' vin #, so often people insure these as 'GT's and not Saleens and Roushs. To their dismay, they are upset if they are hit in an accident and the insurance co only gives them gt $ back on the car. Don't keep your insurance co in the closet with regard to your ride. Make it very clear to them what your car is worth from the get-go. If you try to screw them, they will screw you.

I didn't realize the vin just showed a GT versus a Saleen. I was surprised when I called my ins. co. for a quote on a supercharged Saleen. I gave them the vin and it was a cheap quote. I guess they didn't know it had 435 horse under the hood. Good advise Birdieman. You may not be insured for you think.

My agent asked if I wanted to increase the insurance value with mods I had done. You cant get crazy with it, but you can definitely increase your coverage based on the resonable appraised value. If your agent wont, find another agent.

ts called gap ins. you will pay a little more but if the car is a loss, you have total replacement value.

Good thread, i'm sure this will be quite interesting to a lot of Roush owners. I myself didn't even know of the situation, very well put when it was 'Birdieman4' "If you scre them, they will screw you", and its the truth.
