The difference between borla pipes and the stock pipes

The difference between borla pipes and the stock pipes
I figured I'd clear this up once and for all.. the difference between the pipes that come with the Borla catback set and the stock set.
I took this picture after i got them so it is old, but i put circles on where the bends are on one pipe and dots on the other pipe. There are 4 visible in the pictures, MAYBE 5 on the pipe itself but i don't want to go under the car right now.
And here we have the stock pipe. Ugh. Not only is it alot thicker, but it just looks like crap. The borla pipes on the car now have probably 9,000 to 10,000 miles on them and they still look perfect. On this stock (which looks like it is the passenger side) pipe i put lines where bends are visible in the picture. There are 10, plus that frikken crimped spot. The bends on these are poopy, too.
This video is from Will, and it shows the difference between the axle back and the catback sets. You can hear the difference. he said it goes first axel back, then cat back then both.

I hope this clears alot of things up for you guys who always ask if there is a difference at all. Just remember this: YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Andy, one thing to note is that the white car (dkano from the forum) just got his borla axel backs... could that be why they sound a bit raspy next to my cat backs? I'm assuming he put about 200-250 on them at the time we did htis clip.

I have the axle backs and mine sound totally different than the video posted above. Check mine out.

This has been discussed just a few times before, Long ago CrazyAl showed the same difference as you are trying to point out. The difference performace wise was neglible, it might change the sound a little but you are not really losing any power with the stock over axles vs aftermarket. You are paying 200+ more for those pipes too!

I'm in total agreeance. I just wanted to point out that the sound in his video versus mine is totally different. In his video, the axle backs don't sound that impressive. In my video they do. Do you think there is any difference in the axle backs of today versus a year ago?
