What gears are good to run

What gears are good to run
Hey guys, great site. It's good to see that there are others who love Mustangs as much as we do. Just picked up our 06 Mustang Gt about three weeks ago and LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!. As I'm driving around I can feel that the gears in the back can stand to be a little lower than the 3:55's. Has anybody here changed there gears yet and what kind of gear would be good for the highway and around town cruising. I was thinking 4:11's what do you think?

I just went with 4.10's behind a Roush Supercharger, and with a beefed up suspension, it makes the car a real monster. Still ok on the highway, too. Gives 5th gear some actual pickup power. Downshifting to 4th feels about like 3rd used to, and 3rd is vicious! The gear really keeps the car right in the middle of the power range all the time.

Go with 4:10 gears... you will be happy everytime you push the pedal. I only notice about 200rpm change in each gear on the hwy but i notice a heck of a lot better performance than before. Its super fast off the line and in every gear you get that push you are looking for.

Did you lose your Roush warranty when you changed the gearing. I have heard that if the dealership installs and recalibrates that is OK.
I can always call Roush, but thought I would ask.

I called Roush on Thursday to see if I could do the 4.10 and maintain the warranty but they were closed. I will follow up on Monday.
By the way, if you go to the Roush site, they sell 3.73's for 94's thru 2004's, but nothing for the 05-06 models. Too bad they don't sell there own 4.10 for the 05-06. Then you could probably add it and maintain the s/c warranty.
Like I said, I will call Monday but my guess is they will not allow it.
