WOT not 100% WOT???
I did a search, but didn't exactly find what I was looking for. I put the new tune in the car and was just screwing around and thought I'd look at some data logs. Anyway I turned the key to ON and looked at the throttle cuz I remember someone mentioning this before. Anyway, mash the gas, throttle says it's at 100%, but the TPS says the throttle body is at 85%. Just wondering if it's cuz I'm not moving and the car knows this or what. Also the TCS is on, maybe I'll turn it off and try again. Anyone know if this is normal or not?
Thanks

It's the car attempting to maximize your performance and emissions by opening the throttle only to the most efficient point.
This determination is based upon your onboard sensors and how you, personally, drive the car.

You wouldn't want to. The car knows what throttle is the most efficient. So, if the car knows 90% WOT is more efficient (more power, less consumption) than 100% WOT, why would you want 100% WOT?

Well, my car rattles, but I don't want it to. JK, but really I'm not sure my car out-thinking me is a good thing. If I want it to give me full throttle that's what I'd like. Honestly if I wanted great efficiency and gas mileage I'd have bought a Prius. I fly airplanes for a living and I'm used to a lot of technology...just not sure I want my car thinking for me.

GGII is right. There is a point where to much airflow and fuel hurts performance instead of making power, It depends on the mods and how efficiently your engine burns fuel and scavenges exhaust etc. It is like the old wives tale on carbs. Everyone was buying 750 cfm double pumpers for mild modded engines when a 600 cfm would be more efficient and make more power.
I am ok with my car making the most out of the available fuel and air to efficiently produce the most power without overloading the system and costing me power.
