Default HP Limit On Our Engines

Hey Everyone,

Ok, so whats the HP limit on our engines? I've heard 400-475...

I have a Borla Catback and a C&L CAI + Tune. I'm having nitrous installed and I want to know what size pill I should go with. I really don't want to blow my engine. I'm planning on doing forged internals later, but I don't have the money for it now. And I def don't have the cash for a new engine on my waiters pay. So whats a say hp pill to get me into the 12s. :-) I'm thinking of going with a 100pill. (I'm going to get XPipes and Headers next.

First step to get to the 12's is sticky tires. With your gears and decent tires you should be able to get in the 12's. With a 100 shot you would be very low 12's.

I've got sticky tires. Brand new for $125. I find all the deals don't I.

I'm not worried about my time, I just don't want the 100 or 125 shot to blow my engine.

You should be fine with a 100 shot, I would suggest putting it on the dyno and check the A/F ratio. There are several guys running a 125 shot on custom tunes.

Well, I'm getting two custom tunes, one for the track (must use nitrous), and one for normal driving (could use it if I wanted to but I don't have to.)

I just called up EvoPro and ordered 16 HT0 plugs. Those guys are fast! Got my tracking number via e-mail like 2 min after I hung up the phone.

475 to 500 max on the engine, and make sure you have a rock solid tune. What you're doing should be OK, just make sure the A/F and timing are right on the money.

It really all depends on the car, I know there has been a few threads in here before and should read them they might help.

Ive heard of 400 blowing and Ive heard 475-- This is to the wheels.
Im putting 400 but I plan to do a engine swap soon for the hp I want.

I wouldn't do more than 425 or so

You should be ok with a 100 shot. Remember your probaly only putting 250 or to the ground if your car is stock so adding 100 wouldnt hurt. Make sure you get a good tune .

+1...lol

I know of at least 10 cars running N2O and the norm is between 75-125 shot. With these cars, the nitrous is exactly like the s/c and turbos and ANY forced induction. The tune is essential and the tune will decide if your motor grenades - not the HP. But the consensus amoung the pros is anything over 450 rwhp is a matter of when not if. I would also strongly suggest you get a new clutch with N2O.
