P.S I think that when dealing with a C5 corvette(z06 excluded) and a 2005-2006 GT. It's no longer apples and oranges. I give credit to ford for the new mustangs performance. Now I don't even look at the old Gt's. Its not worth the gas.

I would race an auto stock 2001 Corvette! Pulleys gears and intake shouldn't really give me an advantage, would it?

After my procharger arrives, I won't be looking for mustangs, i'll be looking for the ford GTs. I still might lose though.

I traded an 02 Vette for my GT. The Vette is much lighter, with more HP and more torque and is more aerodynamic. I'm not surprised. You get a different sensation of speed in different cars so it's hard for me to say which felt faster. But I'm very happy with the way the GT accelerates and the engine and drive train have a great feel. I also had a C6 for a short while. Not to knock Vettes, but for me personally having just owned two, I find the GT to be a much more enjoyable car to drive. Whatever it might lack in sex appeal, it more than makes up for in fun.

+1 Airborneflyguy

Don't feel bad man. Everyone is talking about the new Mustangs. The car your describing is in a different class, so shut your mouth. Sounds to me like your obsessed with the new Mustang. We all know no one really cares about a 2001 Vette.
