Almost did the front cause I love the grill and there isn't anything comparable; but I thought the bumper/fascia was a bit overdone and I couldn't get past those "weird lights". Whole front can be had for about $800; not bad.

I think it would be a great idea, just don't be putting any saleen badges on it.

I have been considering the Saleen front facia for a little while now. I'm just not sure how well it will flow with the rest of the lines on the stock car. If I did do it....the Saleen badge on the front needs to come off. But all this depends on me keeping the car black, which means no stripes for me. But it could be worth it to create a sinister stang.[8D]

Oh we could trim that grill badge out I'm sure. I believe I checked into it and it is molded into the grill, not just mounted there. If I saw a Saleen at a local dealer I could say on a scale of 1-10 the difficulty of grill badge removal such that there would be no evidence of it ever being there (and that's the goal on that one); I just don't know about those little integrated lights; I mean I've never seen anything like that on this planet, never mind "retro"; It's just that these little lights scream SALEEN; and frankly I'd prefer they weren't there. The surrounding bumber/fascia has a molded area to accept them so they point straight ahead... I don't know, kinda weird; I just wasn't able to go there... but that grill got me close, I'll say that!! Thing is we can do a billet grill nicely powdercoated with our own OE fascia for about half the cost. ...and TB you had some photoshop pics of that look and those were "SICK!!!". ...so I'd be more inclined to go that route than Saleen... cause even w/o the badge; those lights are like "a badge". ...I know I have to move on (lol) ...sorry folks!!

Yea, I hear ya. I keep posturing like I'm gonna do the whole "Sini-stang" look.....but in the end I know I'm still gonna do the stripes and hood. I've just been planning on it too long to turn back now. That, and everytime I see white stripes on a black stang....I get goosebumps. lol.
Makes me wish I had two GT's to do two different schemes on[8D] That would be sweet...
I also agree about the two sidelights on the Saleen facia. I think it is a deal breaker......unless they could be blacked out some how. What kind of lights are they supposed to be anyways? Are there some blinkers in there? Or some PIAA lights? I dunno...lol Does anyone? Guess it's time to make a trip to the Saleen/Roush section.

I know at one time I asked a guy on EBay who was selling one what kind of lights these were. I don't believe he knew either. I guess they're like the GT lights; we don't know what those are either (lol). These Saleen lights are "goofy" to me so I really don't care what purpose they are supposed to serve. They probably just wanted to continue to have a use for the existing wiring. I only see two options:
1) Billet powdercoated
2) OE GT grill, fab with OE V6 inner shell and honeycomb. I can't see keeping the pony in this OE design solution. It currently sits in a perimeter crater of ugly surround plastic and couldn't have been made to look any more chinsy than that. ...so it will go... the clock is ticking.

Yeah, I think your original design is gonna stand up. It's mean, racy, classy, clean.
