Default Zex kit questions

For those of you that have gone with the Zex kit, what is your opinion? How has the car reacted and what about tuning issues? Was custom tuning needed? Thinking about giving it a "shot" even though I have always been leary of nitrous. The kit seems to be one of the safest there is with the fuel management system that it has. Pro - Cons?

Thanks for the input!

Good question. I'd like to know too. I've been eyeing the Zex kit myself. The one specifically for our vehicles of course.

The thing that concerns me is that I have a custom dyno tune. I have read that you need to be at stock timings (I'm far from it) with a 75 shot and decreased from stock 2 degrees with 100 shot. Don't really want to ditch the custom tune for the Zex. I now have constant on demand H/P and with the Zex I won't. Hmmm..... Going by my tuners tomorrow afternoon so I will be asking them for their thoughts as well.

I too am contemplating a Zex kit. Unfortunately, you have to run stock timing, even less at 100 HP levels to be able to use it at a moments notice. That means no aggressive high octane tunes and in many cases, colder plugs. How those colder plugs work the 99% percent of the time you are NA is also a question. That 25-30 HP CAI/tune may also be neutered back to 15 HP or so with stock timing however, it may well be worth it when you hit the button and smoke that pesky Vette (assuming it's stock). I got jumped by two of them last Saturday night and might have challenged them if I had a little help in the trunk.

I don't know if anyone has tailored a tune to Nitrous. I read about Brenspeed's tests with it, so that may be a good place to begin.

my first post here, but i am interested in what people are doing with nitrous on these cars. I just bought an 06 GT and stole the nitrous kit of my gen1 lightning. what do these cars run for fuel pressure?

I do know that you really have to do a wet kit and the fuel management on these new stangs is totally different. Don't know if you can adapt an older kit to it.

Oh, and welcome!

Well I have a V6 but the difference with just a 75 shot is amazing. The car pulls like no other and just keeps pulling. I had brenspeed make me a new custom tunes after I had the nitrous installed along with the CAI. The kit is very safe and no problems have come up. I would reccomend getting the Zex racers kit, it comes with a bottle heather, blow down pipe, and purge. I love the nitrous and cant wait to bump to the 100 shot. The car feels like it loves the nitrous and continues to run strong during and after the nitrous.

Any input on the timing issues?

I know that you could get away with stock timing on the 75 shot, but with the 100 shot you timing would need to be adjusted.
