Default DRAG STRUTS INSTALLED

i thought there might be a few of you guys wondering if it's possible to get a drag strut on an 05-06 mustang so here's some pics of mine. they are strange engineering adjustable drag struts for a 79-04 fox body mustang retrofitted to my 06. they are actually very close in dimension to the stock struts. since i have custom top strut mounts anyway it was a bit easier to adapt them to my car. they work great and the car rides very well with them adjusted to street settings. no track data yet but just by testing them on race settings there is a HUGE difference in weight transfer and shock extension speed during launch. i'll know more when i get to the track next week. i've been making lots of changes lately looking for some major e.t. reduction. the car's going a crash diet(losing some unecessary items+installing an alum. race seat) and getting new gears along with the struts and a race only retune for the h20/meth injection. still wanting that 11.99 N/A from my auto and it ain't gonna be easy.

thanks. the track i've been running at is about a tenth slower than the other one nearby. i figured if i can get the thing to run a 12.30-12.20 at mason-dixon dragway then i'll shoot down to capitol or MIR or even to cecil county just to lay down a good number. i'd still be happy with 12.20's but if get that close i'll have to do something for that extra .2 but what? i think the 4.30's are going to make a big difference+having some good struts will help my 60's even more. i think i'm losing something on top end. i just don't have the MPH most of you guys have. could be not enough gear. i just can't get rthe rpm on top end with 3.73's.

Spyder:

Keep me update with the progress for your car. If you want, e-mail me cause i have a anti-roll bar for the '05. It is not knockoff at all. It is 4-way adjustable with interchangeable bars that i have found very helpfull with changing track conditions. I will have to e-mail you a pic as mine is too hi res for this site.......

If there are guys out there that don't want to cut on the factory spindle, I am running the Santhuff front drag struts on my '05. This is my first time using Ronnies product but they are the best i have ever used.

i'm going to ditch the front seats and use a butler built seat i've had laying around for 10years. then i'll lose the exhaust system in favor of dynomax bullets. both of those should lose about 150-180lbs. i saw that santhuff had some struts but they were just a bit more than i'd like to spend. my strange fox body struts went on very easy all things considered. no machining of the spindle but the top mount is the trick. i made mine out of some billet aluminum. i'll pm you my e-mail address.

05zexstang,
the rears are also fox body shocks which have the same dimensions except for the spacer on the bottom mount. i just used a couple washers to shim the difference. they work great also. QA1 makes some for the 05-up also. it's the same deal fox body mustang shocks with spacers included only they cost quite a bit more. i just don't understand why noby makes a drag strut for these cars yet. it's not that much different than the 79-94 strut and with a little retooling for the bracket they could make a fortune. i set mine on 8 front and rears on 5 for the street. race i will set them on 1 or 2 front and the rears work best so far on 1.
