Antenna problem
Does anyone know how to take the radio antenna off? I was thinking about taking it to a body shop to take it off and get filed down buut I don't know how much it would cost me or if the radio sound quality would be the same. Please give me some advice.

Drive up to Dahlonega, Cleveland, Helen, Hiawassee etc. and let me know how well an 8" antenna works!

Mike
it will work fine in Hiawassee, GA as i listen to my Books on CD from the library 95% of my time or the exhaust sound as I step on it on the expressway on ramp........... producing a slight smile and approving nod from my ghostly passenger, Lt. Frank Bullitt.
% of time out of metro Atl area = 2%...i'd be listening to Books on CD or Meatloaf sing the greatest love song of ALL TIME : Paradise By The Dashboard Lights ( rip it from Limewire.com) on CD

LOL!
Back in the 70's all we had were 8 tracks and if you were real lucky a cassette player. Most of the time it was either Z-93, 96 Rock, or some other station. Reception in those hills was horrible.
I'm jealous of ya because you got good ole WKLS 96 Rock to listen to in Atlanta and I bet it is crystal clear.
Back then I had a 1971 Buick with the antenna built into the windshield. Talk about not being able to pickup any stations at all. Only the Fords back then were able to get decent reception since they had the 31-32" whip antenna. I remember getting a Ford antenna and drilling a big hole in the fender of that Buick and putting it on and improving my reception tremendously.
BTW, I was born and raised in Dahlonega, GA.
The 31" antenna doesn't bother me.

Hell, why do you think i have hood pins with white (...now grease gray) dental floss instead of the really cool looking plastic coated FRPP wire clip retainers (sitting on the shelf in the storage room... next to the silver pony).
