Default For those with SCT Ex. II

Hey guys i've been trying to figure out how to do "end user adjustments" with my excalibrator II such as adjusting the rev/speed limiter, turning off O2 sensor and adjusting the speedometer for gear and tire size changes. What specific program(s) will i need to do this?...the extreme tune software?? i've downloaded it and when i connect my programmer i can't seem to figure out how to get the programs onto my computer to adjust. looking at 4:10's and off road H soon. any help much appreciated as always.

You change all those settings when the tuner is hooked up to the car. Right before the tune is loaded it should ask you if you want to change any default settings. This is where you can set the rev/speed limiter, idle, wheel revs, fan temp, etc.

thanks blk05stang. also a few quick questions... i've heard of tunes 'fading' and guys reloading them. If this is the case and i have to reload do i have to put it back to stock first or can i just reload the current tune i'm running. also similarily, if i want to change from a tune, such as the 87 tune from evo to the 91 do i have to put it back to stock first and then load the 91, or can i sumply plug it in and load the 91 tune?? thanks

If you're worried about the tune fading (I haven't noticed that yet), then just plug the tuner in and just load the tune again, no need to return it back to stock.

I dont think that your tune could ever fade. It will still be the same tune in there after you load it no matter what. You can try disconnecting the battery for 15 mins to reset the ECU's learned memory and that should be the same as a fresh tune. You don't need to put the car back to stock tune when switching from an 87 to a 91 tune either.

I've noticed a fade after driving calmly in traffic with conservative shifts several days in a row. A few sprints usually perks it back up though. It has to do with the learning function of the ECU. There's more talk on that here.

If you purchased a "Custome Tune" the tune will not fade. This is because the "Adaptive Learn" feature in the OBD has been turned off/disabled.

If you purchased the SCT without a "custom tune" then any settings having to do with A/F and VCT will fade.

Its important that you purchase a custom tune from one of the SCT dealers on this board. They do good work for a reasonable price.

I personally chose Fred at Evolution Performance because of his work with the VCT and Automatic Transmission.

Have Fun
