Default American Thunder

I was told by Flowmaster to install a set of the 40 series mufflers on my 05 gt, so I took their advice and had them installed. I can't tell that much of a difference from the stock system and I called Flowmaster back. They informed me that the information I received was incorrect and should have been told to buy the American Thunder series that they designed specifically for the 05-06 gt's. They wanted to know if they could send me a HAT or a T-SHIRT to make me feel better and I told them I wanted my exhaust fixed. Now they're going to send me the American Thunder kit for free and let me keep the 40 series on my car. They won't refund my money, but at least I get a free system. Now I want to re-sale the one's they're sending me and buy the Pypes Beast kit. Maybe I'll get blessed.

IMO I think flowmasters are a waste on the 05 GT. Good luck with the American Thunder.

I have the AT on my 05 and I am quite pleased- I know alot of people have problems with the welds but I have yet to have any issues after 5K- I am going to add the BBR offroad X Pipe so I may get alittle nicer growl but for the money I think the AT are a good deal and give a real nice sound, not to loud and very comfortable to ride in.... IMHO

I agree, k2. No probs at nearly 5k miles, and they're fairly quiet on the highway. Nice growl around town. But if they do go breasts-up on me, I'll try another brand.

With the free AT system and the kickback you'd get from selling the 40 series, it sounds like people should mess up on purpose
