You would get charged a gas guzzler tax, if you bought a SRT-8......

That's another thing I'll say about the new Chargers, the gearbox in them in phenominal. I remember reading it was a Mercedes transmission, and it really shows. Smooth shifting, even when you punch it hard.

I understand that those cars run a very tall gear in the rearend to give it the MPG it needs.
You're correct, it has a 3.06 rear.

Don't they come with 20" wheels stock, as well? The tall wheel and tire will eat into that gear ratio as well.

Strange things can happen in a race. I lost to an 04 Cobra by only a car length in the quarter mile at the track. I smoked him off the line and he had a heck of a time chasing me down.

Car and Driver says the Mustang GT convertable is faster than the Charger R/T...
5.0/ 13.7, 0-60/ 1/4mile vs 5.6/14.2 0-60/1/4 mile...
The dodge Magnum SRT-8 is rated at 5.1/13.6...
The Neon SRT4 ACR is 5.6/14.3.
The Ram SRT-10 quad cab is 5.6/14.2...
chrysler 300C SRT-8 is at 4.7/13.2
I guess they didn't test the charger SRT-8...
