Default Ford Racing Power Pack

I was just browsing around, debating on what route to take as far as HP- 1/4 times go....I took a look at the ford racing power pack which is around $1400 for the drag kit, the obvious pro to this is maintaining your warranty..however with their combination of parts I cant see the gains being any more than 30-40 hp...ahh the confusion...I really want to go with an intake and tuner package from brenspeed/evolution but i just dont want to risk losing my warranty...I guess Ill have to just wait until the warranty is up or go to ford and have them install a supercharger for an ungodly amount...we shall see...but I was just wondering if anyone happens to own any of the power packs??

I don't own the power pack. Personally, I'm not a big fan of any of the "Ford" packs. Sure, they might let you maintain the warranty but I don't think the value for money is that good.

The good thing about the drag pack is that it comes with FRPP gears, which are the best for our cars (no whining). But, I think the shorty headers are a waste of money. If you're going to go through the expense of buying and installing headers, get longtubes instead of the shortys. I belive the FRPP short headers are worth 5 HP. A set of long tubes should be AT LEAST 3 times that. 20+ HP is not unreasonable.

Regarding the warranty, you might want to ask your local dealer. A lot of people on the forum have had their dealer maintain the warranty if the dealership installs their mods (FRPP or other brand). I suggest going to your dealer, buying the FRPP gears through them, and supplying your own set of LT headers and then having them do the install work. Chances are that you'll keep your warranty. It can't hurt to pay the dealership a visit and chat with them.

Or if your a DIY'er just slap on whatever you want...and in the event something does go horribly wrong stick your stock stuff back on.
