Raced a Modded SRT4
I got a call a few days ago from a guy who claimed he put several thousand in his buddies SRT-4 and was looking to race a "fast" car. I explained that mine wasn't heavily modded, but it will hold its own. After driving the 20 miles to the town where I live, we went out to a flat stretch of barely used highway.
The thing had some blower upgrade he called a "stage 3" kit. Anyway, we raced twice and both times I put 8 to 10 cars on him.....what gives? I drove his car after the race and it didnt rev anywhere near as quickly as my GT......oh well, a kill is a kill.......

Nice kill.
I think he has something set wrong though. My step son has a SRT4 that he upgraded to Stage 2 and he can stay with me. Works out to a drivers race between he and I. The only mod I have is JLT II CAI and tune from Evolution. Of course now that he has driven my Mustang he wants one too. Just the overall feel of the car and the torque was enough to make him want to upgrade.

The thing sounded like it was going to explode. He put down 3 pulls over 490 but didn't hit the 500 mark. I guess Adam built the motor was what I heard. The guy was in the street after doing burnouts and was popping of the rev limiter. Crazy, I'll take my GT V8 any day over that.

I was at the Dyno day on saturday at STMotorsports and a SRT4 put down a 493HP dyno run.

I was there also. Somebody here is fibbing. Heavily modded SRT-4s are light and will kick you butt.

not doubting the kill, but doubting the friend and his big mouth. stage 3 srt4's *can* run low-mid 12s at srt10 viper trap speeds...
