I'm not positive, but I believe the 3.31 gears are only for the automatic, can anyone verify that?

When I checked KBB, and looked at the various options, under the Automatic transmission it states that it includes a 3.31 axle ratio. It does not state this under tha manual.

I guess that's good news for manual drivers..

For '07 the GTs come with 3.31 regardless of whether it's manual or auto. The 3.55 ratio is available as an OPTION with the manual tranny only. Order code is 455 and cost is 87.00 invoice/ 100.00 retail.

The '07 GTs weigh 3356lbs according to the 2007 Mustang Key Features guide. So if anybody knows the stock weight of the '06 they can compare it to that.

I got mine ordered for $300 over dealer invoice ($1700 under MSRP) with minimal shopping around and negotiating.

Should be here by early July
Where do you find/look at the Mustang "Key Feature Guide"?
And I wonder if they have one for the 2006?

Yeha, I found the same thing for the 2007's but in the "dimensions and specifications" area they
don't list curb weights.

I still find it EXTREMELY hard to believe that the 2007's would weigh less or even the same as the 05/06's.
Ford is not changing the car any, but rather adding thicker steel and a few extra welds in certain areas.
That adds up to more weight, not less.

But I don't know why Ford apparently hides the "official" curb weight of the car.

There's a link to it somewhere in these forums or it might be on blue oval forums, I'll see if I can find it again. It's a different publication than the order guide and it has a lot more details on the specifications of the car. I have it printed out thought and that's the weight they give.

It does seem odd that they weigh less, but it is possible. They may have found naturally rigid areas of the body and subtracted steel from there. Plus, adding welds on its own adds very little weight. For perspective, pick up a welding rod some time, they're not heavy at all. One rod can do a few good sized welds, and the welds will weigh less than the rod that is used since part of it is burned up.

EDIT: Here's the key features guide link. It's in pdf format, the weights are on page 10. Mustang Key Features Guide
