Back to the start of this thread.. 3.73 gears and a CAI and a custom tune (dyno tune ) will get you spinning your tires no problem.. if fact . I spin in 2nd and 3rd. even go sideways in 2nd and 3rd.. ( not as much in 3rd ) but still some)

bottom line.. spend about 1K and it will put a big smile on your face.. ( if you can do the work yourself .. if not then it will cost you.???. I will guess maybe $1,500.00 .. but that is a guess..


BTW: I get better MPG with the above stuff added plus the fun factor.. so you get two things in one..

Ive made my 2000 Ranger with a 3L v-6 burn out... plenty of times... the only after market product was an open air filter and 40 series original Flowmasters

To ask another newbie question here since it was brought up, do the V8s have the same open differential as the V6s, or do they have a LSD?
