Default What next? Can't decide!

Okay, if you take a look in my signature you can see I have a decent amount done to my GT already. Now i'm going for performance mostly although I haven't lost to any car yet. So far i've taken down two c5's, two Evo's, and a couple other easy wins.

Anyways, I am deciding between the following: Hooker L/T Headers, Chrome DD Bullitts, and Saleen Blower.

Now I am having trouble coping with the fact of how long i'll have to wait for the Saleen Blower which is why I want to knock it out of the picture for later. The DD Bullitts really aren't too much performance considering I already have 18" Fanblades with BFGoodrich KDWs so I really just am having a hard time deciding what to do next.

For reference; UDPs and T/B are not something i'm looking to do because UDPs don't have sufficient power gain during warm temperatures as I live in Florida while there has not yet been a sufficient T/B produced and really isn't useful until I purchase the Blower.

Sorry to ramble on but that should prevent those items as upcoming opinions. Okay so if anybody has some other ideas for performance, i'm assuming most people will say to go with the Blower I just really don't want to shell out that much cash.

Thanks in advance for all opinions!

If performance is your goal, then the Longtubes seem to be your mod of choice from that list you posted. Plus, even though they are not required for the blower, I would do them first so that you're not going to be pushing all that extra exhaust flow through the stock exhaust once you do get your blower. I consider a good exhaust to be a foundation for any kind of flow-enhancement work on the motor (porting, cams, blower, etc...)

The Wheels are nice, and you won't have any trouble selling the fanblades if you want to, they're pretty popular. This is a cosmetic mod, of course, so it's all up to you.

I know these aren't on your "list" but you might also consider:

Charge-motion delete plates (though this would become moot if you get a blower)

And, I would definatley be thinking about some suspension work: Tubular lower control arms as a minimum. Also think about a stouter rear sway bar, panhard bar, and so on.

CrazyAl how much were your motor mounts, because when I do go with my longtubes I should just replace the current lanky ones while i'm at it. All the suspension mods will most likely be done LCAs and an adjustable panhard bar it's i'm having a hard time deciding on what to do first and what not.

I could go with the rims now, the longtubes now, or I could finish off my suspension mods and still have some $$$ left over.

So much to do!!! It's amazing how addicting it is and just how much fun.

I got the motor mounts from Summit. They are the Prothane "Bullet" style mounts. I think I paid about $150 for them. I have seen them for less on Ebay, but I was in a hurry when I bought them, so I got them from Summit becasue I knew I would get them fast even though it cost a little more.

Steeda makes some that are very similar, but they cost about twice as much. No thanks!!

For what it's worth, I bought them along with my other exhaust supplies becasue I had read that sometimes the mounts are needed when doing a header swap. I wanted to make sure I had a set in case I needed them. I didn't want to have to wait with my car in pieces while I bought some. For my Dynatech headers they ended up NOT being needed. However, I was happy to swap 'em anyway. It gives more room under the hood to work around the motor, and saves some weight from the front end. Plus, it stiffens up the motor mounting a bit. I'm happy to have gotten them even though they weren't strictly REQUIRED for my application.

I'd definitely say long tubes. Power before flashyness anyday. Will they hook right up to your x pipe? If so, what is eliminated when you use LT vs Shortys?

CrazyAI,

Are the mounts hard to change, when i order my headers(in a few months) I would like to replace them also and just wanted to know what it was like to change?

Is your car an auto or five speed? The reason I ask that is that you state that youve taken down a couple of C5 vettes.
