I just bought the Mrs a new GT. Have any of you had any problems or is there anything I should be aware of or look out for? It seems the new GTs are very mod friendly and respond very well to FI. I have an '01 GT that is about as far as you can go N/A and still have it somewhat streetable and the Mrs used to own a 500rwhp S/C 2000 GT, so she is quite familiar with power and speed. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Dash Rattle
Fuel Pump TSB(I think some might surge after long hwy drives)
Skipper500/1000 is pretty dissapointing
window seals scratching tint
phantom wheel hop

Thats all I can think of. The only issues I've had have been the dash rattle and scratched tint, neither of these bother me too much. I also had one strut bent and another leak after 2000 miles but I don't think thats been a wide spread problem.

Cool, thanks for the input. We never buy a car for first year production, so hopefully all the bugs were worked out from the '05's.

Congrats man she's going to love it!!! I'm not gona lie I've pretty much had every problem on that list and then some. Nothing major but just annoying crap. Oh and clutch pack TSB, i'm not sure if anyone said that yet.

Anyone know where I can find the TSB number for the fuel pump issue?? Mines doing it alot now after highway drives .

Supposedly the S197s suffer from wheel hop according to so magazine articles but I nor anyone else I've have ever had any issues with wheel hop. As far as the clutch pack one of the guys I work with has had that problem but he got it fixed pretty quickly.
