Yes, you can use the tuner to install a tune on your car anywhere you'd like a long as it in not moving. If you do it in your house, make sure you leave the windows open so the C02 vapors don't build up. (just kidding)

Just don't start the engine when you turn the key on while you are receiving the tune. Make sure radio is off, a/c is off, doors stay shut, don't touch window levers; in short, don't do anything that would cause an energy draw while program is loading into your car.

I have a saleen s/c that came with an SCT. I switched to predator and had adam at st motorsports custom tune it and I gained over 50 rwhp with it. I would strongly suggest getting a custom tune or a canned tune from JDM.
