if you redo exhuast, dont get shortys. long tubes show the most gain. if you're looking at gears with a n/a car, 3.90's offer you an excellent driveability and you dont lose the mpg on the highway like some others. 4.10's give a little more pop, but you suffer in the terms of everyday driveability and mpg. you can purchase MOTIVE 3.90's through brenspeed at a reasonable price. or if you're looking for FRPP to keep everything blue oval, 3.73s are nice if you're eventually supercharging, but for a strictly n/a applications, you'll want a hair steeper at the least. you should also look at the 5.0 stroker kit for the 05-06 gt. its a hell of a package. seanhylandmotorsports.com has a great package including new 5" cam, forged rods, forged pistons, moly rings, and FM main / rod bearings. puts you at 300 ci. nice little boost and more reliable engine. not to mention 5.0 badges everywhere.

get a set of 4.10/4.30 gears, if you plan on supercharging, talk to nanaki in they pipes boost and juice section, hes got 3.73s with over 400 HP and he will tell you that going with 3.73s was the biggest mistake of his life

Im mixed up some. You said gears and pullys are good choices but the other guy (gto6) said they were a waist because if I get a S chager next year than it's a waiste????? Get them or don't? also if I get them now what will I gain in hp? 5 or 10? Get back to me, I want to order today or Friday. Hey If I dont get a super charger than gear and upulleys are cool right? With so may gear combos how do you deside on which ones? Many people arebashing 373's it seems.

If you are supercharging your ride the UDP's and gears are pointless!!!

Ponyman, I wont be doing anyyyyyyy install myself no way. I will difinately screw it up so thats out. Staying away from the juice, so I guess it's sounding like gears upulleys unless someone else comes up with a better plan. don't know what LCA's are?? Remember this is new to me.

Stang I cant go with headers because I mentioned I did not want to go any louder than I am. (Mac AB's) I am at the point where it is just loud enough that I don't go crazy. Will an X pipe give me any gain? Or make me any louder??

If youo only have $1000....

1) New gears: ~$350-$500 for part and Install.

2) Underdrive pulleys: ~$300 for part and install.

3) Zex Nitrous kit: ~$500-$650 + install.

If you do the install of the Nitrous and Pulleys yourself you could skate in under your $1000 ceiling and have a pretty wild ride when you hit the pedal!

IMO these are the best "bang for buck" out there beyond your CAI.
man that looks great but where do you find these deals. i have checked into gears, and with parts and install i have been quoted from 850-1000!!!

I thought FRPP also makes a 3.90 gear set. Am I wrong?

I'm also of the belief that 4.10 gears though will give you a bit stronger acceleration, you'll
pay at the pump for what might amount to a car length in the 1/4 over the 3.73's
But if FRPP does make the 3.90 it would be the best compromise.

And like others have said, if you are going to supercharge the car, stick with the 3.55's or go
NO lower than the 3.73's.
And in either case, you'll need wider rubber if you s/c the car.

If it only cost 500 dollars for the gears and install then I need to do that with my bonus check.
