im not dealing with this anymore...my manual transmission does take automatic transmission fluid...if you think im wrong then be happy that ill ruin my tranny putting it in

i havent really checked where to put it in yet but when I drained it it looked/smelled like ATF and it damn sure wasnt gear oil...after some research i found out that it does infact take ATF...im going to put it in the hole on the passenger side of the tranny.

it takes ATF look at this site...my tranny is the Tremek3650 (tr3650)

Many manual transmissions now use Automatic Transmission Fluid instead of the old gear oil. My 2000 C5 Corvette that I just sold is a good example. It used ATF in the manual six-speed. I would be quite surprised if the Mustang owner's manual didn't say what the proper fluid is, but since I don't have my Mustang yet, I can't check myself. So in short, yes, some manual transmissions do use ATF fluid, and some use gear oil. Hope that clears it up for you guys.
