Default UDP's... A squeaky belt!

I had my UDP's put on last week, but now my serpentine belt squeaks for about the first 15 min. the car is running... Any idea of how to fix this or what causes a squeaky belt?

Thanks,
Ray

Just wait for it to break in. Mine did the same thing when I first got the pullys. Hell I thought something was wrong. Now I don't hear it anymore.

It could be that a small amount of oil or other gunk got on the belt (or a pulley) during installation. It won't hurt anything, it will just squeak for a while then go away.

That is most likley the cause.

Cool... About how long should it squeak? I ask because we are approaching two weeks (500 miles) and it is going drive me crazy! My car sounds like a 1984 Buick w/ this squeak.

Yeah, i was wondering the same thing. It sounds like something is loose or grazing along something while spinning.

I gotta tell ya'll that mine does that aswell, and I have had them on for close to 3000 miles. The noise only lasts until the car is fully warmed up though, so its not so bad. But still was def. a concern for a while.

So none of you all have tried replacing the belt or putting some kind of high temp lubricant around the pulleys? These are some of the things I have been thinking of trying... thoughts?
