I paid $40.00 for the adapter and $15.00 for the Steeda bushings. Everything was a total of $65.00 shipped.

The Hurst shifter is a waste of money. If you are going to go to the trouble of replacing the shifter, then replace it with a real shifter. Not an exact duplicate of the stock shifter with a shorter throw.

As for the Saleen adaptor, guys, shop around. You can get it cheaper than $65 bucks. Hell, when I bought mine ( pre Pro 5.0 days ) I paid $40 bucks for it shipped.

Would you mind clarifying for me? All the adapters and everything you guys are talking about are for A/T's right? If so, do you recommend any inexpensive upgrades for a manual (on an 05 GT)? Or aren't there any. Mine seems a little firm... like it moderately resists going into gear on each shift... normal?

Just wondering. Thanks.

The Saleen adapter and the bushings are for a 5spd car, the auto guy's are just joking around.

OH.. ok. Thanks for clarifying. So would you recommend that mod for a rookie shadetree'er? I'm fairly confident behind a wrench... just get a little nervous when comes to messing with the transmission, linkage, etc. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated (as usual).

No offense to your daddy...but it is pretty obvious that your daddy never drove a sub 10 second car or he wouldn't be saying that.

true. almost of the sub ten second cars I have seen were autos. I think I might have seen a couple of four speed ones, but most of the fast cars are auto.

stick is fun though. I prefer it personally.

If you read my post you would have seen that I did tell the transmission when to shift by reprograming the computer and I have a girl and she could probably out shift you any day. I've driven both and I prefer the consistency and reliability of the Auto. This is not an SN95 slushbox.
