I have not broken my driveshaft! There has been a lot of talk about one-piece driveshafts and I was just wondering if anyone has actually had a problem with the stock shaft, even if it does weigh more.

All I know is I havent heard of any driveshaft problems. Also, the stock two piece shaft weighs about 38 pounds, while the $380 aluminum one weighs about 17 pounds. But it may transmit more vibration and noise than the stocker.

There have been a few broken driveshafts, search on other forums, some with FI some without. I had mine broken before I had any mods on my car. The stock driveshaft is actually pretty weak at the part that joins the two parts of the driveshaft together.

One issue is out there. If you install a new rear gear and don't "phase" the drive shaft you can have nasty vibrations. Basically, if you intend to take it apart, mark it so you can put it back exactly like it was!

I am going to have to unbolt mine and try every position (rotate it one bolt hole at a time) to get rid of a vibration!

Thx,

Mike
