hmm after reading your advice i also notice the 'combo' lca's are around 50 bucks cheaper than the full polys. could you explain a little more about what kind of noise you begin to hear when you upgrade to combo from stock.

Are you sure about that pricing? Are you sure you're comparing adjustables-to-adjustables or fixed-to-fixed? The Combo type should be more expensive than straight-up poly, and the double-spherical is even more expensive.

For example, LMP wants $175 for poly-poly, $215 for poly-spherical, and $245 for spherical-spherical. If you then want chromoly, it's another $30 on top of that.

The noise is just road noise. It's not clicking or banging, just a constant vibration and "dull buzz". It's hard to describe. Imagine the sound that you hear in your car when you drive over textured pavement or on a gravel road. It's like that....the normal background noise you hear when your car is moving, just louder.

Poly-Poly or Combo are both going to be a bit louder than stock. The poly-poly is insiginficant. The combo type depends on your "tastes" I guess. I purposely sound-deadened my car before doing my suspension mods so that I could use stiffer parts without bothering me on long trips. The double-spherical type is quite loud, definatley not appropriate for street use.

yep your right, double checked the BMR site and they were non adjustable. i take it 'rod end' is synonymous with spherical making the 'street' adj lca a combo rod. i may try and find someone around here with combo lca's, i like how you explained them but i'm a little worried about just how loud the noise will be since this is also my dd.

I am running adjustable race versions with the sphericals. I do not have a problem with a lot of noise transfer. I only hear them a little over speed bumps etc.

The "Race" ones are chromoly and have spherical bushings on both ends. The "Street" ones have poly-poly or poly-rod.

Lethalperformance has good prices but their web site is not laid out very well and can be hard to understand. I suggest you look at the description at BMR's web site (or LMP Performance): the parts are identical, but the descriptions are easier to understand there.
Hey Al,

We're always interested in customer feedback about our site. Please PM me why you think the site isn't laid out well or what you didn't like so that we can make it easier to use for you guys. Thanks for the feedback! Jared@Lethal

I was looking on another forum and someone was saying wheelhop is when the rear tire bounces. I'm confused. Will LCA's do nothing to prevent my cars front end from jumping up under acceleration?

Wheelhop is when a DRIVEN wheel (on our cars, that is the rear wheels) jumps up under acceleration.

Your front end lifting up is NOT wheelhop...and to be honest, you WANT your front end to come up when you mash the gas pedal. The front end lifting up transfers more weight to the rear axle. This improves your traction when you mash the gas. Drag race guys go out of their way to increase how much the front lifts up on a lanuch in order to maximize traction.

If you want to stop the front lifting (for some reason) then you can get some different front shocks that have more rebound damping, or adjustable types like the Toiko D-specs.

upgrading your rear control arms will help stop your rear tires from hopping under acceleration, but will not affect front end rise.
