Cheapest 05 GT Turbo Kit

RE: Cheapest 05 GT Turbo Kit
Delk Performance in TN has the Hellion single for 4995. Other shops are carrying it, that's just the one I happen to know of.
Powerhouse has their own for around 5400 (from PA).
Hope that helps start ya off. I've looked at both personally.

Cheap might not be the way to go, you might want to wait and do a significant amount of research and then pick out the best designed kit. You could easily premenantly damage your engine.

Im not trying to flame on you but im just letting you know, you get what you pay for. Why get a cheap product (talking about build quality, not price) on your 30k car? That is just IMO. Make sure you do lots of research like skrappy said.

I turbo'd my 97 Eclipse (non-turbo) and learned about "Cheap" the hard way. I bought one of the best kits out there, ball bearing turbo, oil cooled, 18g ( = to a T3/4 ) and spent every last penny i had on it. Enjoyed it for about 3 months before i spun a bearing on the crank. Well after spending another 4500 for a rebuilt motor, another 600 for a new exhaust (oil was everywhere) i learned part of my lesson. Don't forget that to do a turbo kit that will actually work longer than 3 months you need the following
Kit should include:
- Turbo (duhh )
- Intercooler (don't even concider non-intercooled.. not a place to go cheap)
- intercooler piping
- new injectors
- Fuel pressure regulator
- Fuel pump
Kit doesn't include but you need
- To Live with lesser horsepower than may be possible ( It's too easy to add PSI and drastically increase horsepower. )
- New Clutch
- Full Exhaust system (although you may be able to get away w/out this one)
- Air/ Fuel gauge
- Boost Pressure Gauge
- Fuel Pressure gauge
- EGT gauge
- New wheels and tires (you will burn through the stockers in 1st and 2nd)
- Custom Dyno Tune ( Can cost 600-1000 bux depending on who you know )
- A method of retarding Timing Advacment as boost pressure comes up ( Natural Aspirated increases timing based on vacume and rpm)
You will eventually need
- New Brakes ( stock brakes just won't work above 150 mph too well)
- Engine Rebuilt w/forged internals and lower compression ratio
- New Rear end
Long story short.. Have ATLEAST 10k Set aside to do the job RIGHT !!!
