Put my 05 on the dyno

Put my 05 on the dyno
Well I guess it was ok due to the humidity at 45% and the and it being 91 degrees in Kansas City, I put down 290 rwhp and 305 ftlb's of torque. My tune was running a bit on the rich side so hopefully Brent can take care of me, which I know it has more in it. Is this normal #'s for a C&L intake and Axel back's? I didn't really feel so bad due to the fact there was another 05 at the dyno shop with the same mods as me plus long tubes/X pipe and he was only making 4 rwhp more than me and 2 extra ftlb's of torque. Makes me wonder if it's really worth the 800-1500 bucks on full exhaust?

The long tubes are not worth it, neither is the x-pipe. Unless you are looking to max out every mod on the car after a supercharger or turbocharger install, one of the last places you need to go is the exhaust.

Yeah, I've heard the factory exhaust is very, very efficient. I understand longtube headers are great when trying to max performance with reworked heads/new cams, or through forced induction. Aftermarket mufflers are really, at this point,
for a louder sounding car because the gains are minimal in relation to cost. A CAI/SCT calibration and larger TB really wake
the car up. MM&FF ran an article last year comparing axle-backs, and the gains(on a stock car) were not very much over the
factory exhaust. I'm sure it'll sound better though. Could be wrong, but.........then agin the dyno(sometimes) doesn't lie.
