They are slower than us 0-60, thats why they want to race from a roll. They need their turbo to be spooled up to compete with us. Using 4 cylinders to get off the line just doesn't cut it.

No, it's because of the turbo. I think we have LSD's too? So why dont we like to race from a roll? Your lack of traction is due to it being front wheel drive.
Anyways, I can handle lightly modded SRT-4's with about 4 car lengths at about 0-180KM/H (0-113MPH) Havent raced any worthy ones yet, but I know there are some 11-12 second ones around here.

What? 13.5-13.6 in a stock SRT-4? Where did you get that info? My friend has a SRT-4 and I get him by 2-5 car lengths every time,
and yes, his car is stock(wife won't let him 'alter' car). With the traction control on I launch about 2,200-2,500 rpm without problem, in fact if you don't bring the revs up the car will bog nasty. All my friend's say I got a 'good' one, every car doesn't necessarily run
exactly alike. I hear that hp drops slightly over a period of time during engine assembly due to wear on the machine tooling that builds the engines. My car was built 12/04, early in the building process, who knows if this is a factor. I've raced down a M-B CLS 500, early 90's Vettes and recently a new Bimmer 650i 'vert., can't explain it , they weren't drag races either, ran them down on the freeway. I know that these cars are all capable of a higher top speed(although M-B limits their non-AMGs to 130mph)than the speed
limited S197 GT. Heck, I think the SRT-4 hits 150+, I've driven my friend's car, and I can't imagine going that fast in that thing. A 150mph shopping cart! BTW you gotta drive the SRT-4 hard ALL THE TIME to go fast, it's not torquey low down(everyone thinks the new GT is bad!), but once the revs builds, I will admit it feels much quicker than my GT, but the speedo and the car lengths say otherwise. I think my friend needs a new clutch about now.......wonder what his wife'll think.........[sm=bicker.gif]

Haven't you guys seen the pic of the kid of the tricycle with the caption "we learned at an early age that fwd sucks" and the one with the wheelie mustang captioned "real cars don't power the front wheels, they put them in the air"? At least your v8 gt looks and sound good and won't rip the steering wheel out of your hand at WOT...enough talk about srt4s this is a mustang forum!

I sold my SRT-4 then got the GT Stang..My SRT-4 with modified boost and water injection ran 12.3 1/4mi 108MPH or so. Was much faster than the GT currently. Looking for that killer deal on the Whipple H.O. then watch out little toy cars!!.

I got walked on by a srt-4 with upgraded turbo from a 40 roll. At the track I raped a srt-4 with 4+ pounds of boost over stock by a full sec but he ran a 14.7=driver sucked *****. Anyways I luanch my car at 4K. I tried 2K and 2500 but I ran slow.
