Default Mufflers 06 GT.

I have an 06 Gt. Was thinking about getting some aftermarket mufflers just to sound a little meaner. I heard that the muffs on these new stangs tho are quite open and not restrictive and that if you got aftermarket ones .. you could even lose HP..
Seemed kinda corny to me but who out there can help me? Also on some brands.
I'd like a mean sound but not TOO loud. Im not looking to buy tubes or anything just muffler.
Thanks.

You will not lose any HP. If your not going to get a different mid-pipe/headers and you want something loud go with the SLP's.

Revised...

ORIGINAL: cortc

I picked up 3hp with the FRPP borlas, 5hp with the FRPP shorty ceramic headers and 10-12hp with the Magnaflow high-flow cats with x-pipe... The complete exhaust gave me an honest 18hp... Before the SC and with a CAI and 93 tune she did 305 RWHP and 318 RWTQ SAE...

cortc - 18 hp with those mods. How does it breakdown? Total dollars divided by 18 equals how many dollars per HP gained? About $50-60 per HP gained?

I am not saying they are cheap horsepower, it is just hp... And the torque numbers went up across the board as well almost 10 Ft-Lbs and peaked at 20... Oh, did I mention it sounds completely bad ***... The sound alone is worth every penny...

FRPP Shorty Ceramic Coated Headers: U$350.00
Magnaflow CATS/X-Pipe: U$399.00
FRPP Borla Stinger Mufflers: U$350.00

Install: U$ 0.00 (Did it myself...)

Sound: U$ Priceless...

did you have to get all that retuned. . .headers and midpipe???

or did you just leave the 93 tune the way it is??

No, just the CAI required tuning and then of course the 93 octane requirement...
