ok, I had not thought about that - as the !@#$ing squirrels around here have been attacking my car - I was only worried about dings... I guess the boot has to go on a little more often now...

You could train a red squirrel (ok, they aren't trainable and will likely run you over and drive off with your car if you throw them down there)...

Sorry, I am even out of bad ideas...

Seriously though, can you see it? If so, you might be able to find or make a "grabber" which is basically 3 or 4 springy steel wires in a tube that when pulled back from the other side grab on to things... I use smaller versions (screw retriever) all the time to pull screws out of tight spots...

If desperate you could make one with a narrow tube and wire stiff enough to hold its shape yet flexible enough to slide in and out of the tube...

How about a shop-vac with extension tube or something.

metal coat hanger with masking tape wrapped backwards around the end. The acorn will stick to the tape.

I woud say either a powerful shop-vac, or perhaps one of those grabbers people use to pick up trash and litter (you can get them at hardware stores). The coat hanger and tape idea isn't bad either. Good luck with whatever you try.

or you could wait until you get a bunch of them back there, then mash them as best you can, then bake your car and viola you will have acorn bread, just like the indians used to make.

Duct tape instead of masking, and I bet you could sell the contraption
