Default Check Engine Light (P0430)

Hey, all. I have had a C&L intake and Brenspeed 93 tune installed on my car for about 6,000 miles and have never had a problem. About two weeks ago I had a Mac Catted Prochamber installed as well. It has been working fine as well.

However, my car just threw a check engine light. The SCT tuner showed a code of P0430. Car seems to be driving fine. What can this mean and could it be my new midpipe causing it?

Yeah, I did some looking and came up with this:

P0430- Catalyst System Efficiency below Limit - Bank No 2.

So it sounds like this definitely has something to do with the new high flow cats. Anyone else have this problem?

My check engine light just came on too!..It also happened a couple of weeks ago, checked it with my SCT..no codes...so i reset the light. Yesterday it came on again..i havent SCT 'd it yet was thinking about just taking it to a shop with more sensistive equipment. After reading a couple of these posts i am wondering if i am having a problem with the highflow cats too!...Will it harm anything driving it this way??...

A lot of this going around. The more you mess with it, the more trouble you'll have. When you decide to do all these mods, expect stuff like this.

Cleared the code with the SCT and it hasn't come back yet, we will see.

After a little digging I came up with the following as possible reasons for throwing this code:

(1) Exhaust Leak
(2) Bad catalytic converter
(3) Hi-Flow Cats

Sounds like hi flow cats can cause this code even if there isn't any real problem and a lot of people are just disabling the 02 sensor.

If it is the code for the cats, it shouldn't hurt the car, just make it less emissions friendly lol. You also won't be able to pass state emissions tests with it on.

It will come back!..I had the same problem. It was the PO430 code. I think i will just have the 02 sensors disconected. If your running the highflow cats there is a good chance it will show up.

Have the rear O2s disabled in the tune or buy MIL eliminators to fool the computer into thinking the cats are doing more than they really are. Either will work, MIL eliminators won't require a retune.
