Default Whining from the rear

I was driving home last night after work on I-77 with the cruise control on when there was a thud from the rear causing the whole car to shudder. Then it just started whining the rest of the way home. I hoped it would just magically disappear overnight but when I drove to work this morning, the whine was still there. It isn't the engine since the car is quiet when I'm stationary but as soon as the wheels start rolling the whine starts and it gets louder and more high pitched as the speed increases. Any idea's anyone? I have a 2006 GT and it's less than a month old and has about 800 miles on it so I'm really upset that my new toy is feeling sick...

Well, I just dropped her off at the dealer so they can take a look. Hopefully they will have her fixed up quickly. I was just talking with a buddy of mine and he thinks it's the rear diff but I'll have to wait till later today before I know for sure. I'll post the results as soon as I hear from the dealer.

1QuickShortBus - What's the name of the company that can work on our cars? Do you know if they do dyno testing? I wouldn't mind adding a C&L intake with a SCT II tune at some point. Thanks.

Thanks - 1QuickShortBus.

I just picked her up from the dealer and it turns out it is the ring and pinion in the back. They've ordered the parts and she goes back in tomorrow for the work which will all be done under warranty. Until then I will baby her - can't wait until I get her back up to speed!
