I would have to agree with both CrazyAl and Rock36. I installed mine this past weekend and have been running as hard as possible, in this area, to see what if anything has changed. No Dyno time yet.. next month.. but the SOTP feels stronger in the mid to high RPM, na dI have noticed no losses in the lower end either.

One more thing... we all might want to invest in an Oil Separator for our cars... seems that the blow by is a little messy in there. Below are some pics of my stock plates after 43K miles.. Steeda has them for $69.00 EBay for around $30.00.

I noticed that happening on mine a little as well. Not nearly as bad, but I only have 13K miles on mine.

remember finding a valve on the driver's side (only) exhaust manifold when I first took my 85 apart
Nothing unusual about that at all. Virtually every car had that since at least the 50's. It was to warm the intake to prevent the carb from icing in the winter. It opened completely when working properly once it was all up to temperature. the exhaust gas passed through a port in the heads into the intake manifold.

Is is great for performance, no and usually they clog with carbon through the years. But if you are driving a carburated car in the winter, sometimes it is needed.

As far as the CM plates. I am still on the fence about them. Is the the throttle response down low any sharper??

Problem is. When inspection time rolls around what happens?? If the car passes the sniffer test without the plates, will it pass with the tune? And what says the CAI's are 50 states legal. And being you cannot run the plates without the tune, things get complicated.

The way the car is now, 15 minutes worth of work and I can bring it to ford, inspection, whatever and not have worries.

Does anyone know about putting it back stock? do the stock plates have to be calibrated or adjusted just right to work?

Bump no one has reinstalled the factory one? Or for you guys that took it off does it look like it would have to be adjusted just right? Like a throttle body?

I have not reinstalled them. However, it looks like they would go on simply. I am not sure, but I'm guessing that as long as you don't move the servo when you take off the stock parts then it should go back on with no adjustments.

Keep in mind I haven't researched this or tried it, it's just observations based on looking at the parts.
