No way. IMO that is a bad idea. The last thing I want to do is make my car easier to steal.

I believe you need the key in the ignition first for this to work, so stealing wouldn't be a issue? I could be wrong?

All of the ones I have seen you still have to put the key in run position to unlock the steering column. So I dont see it making it easier to steal but I also dont see any advantage to it either as you still have to put the key in and turn it...

EDIT I got beat to the button.

I have installed the ignited ignition switch on my '06 GT and I love it. It cost me $60 and the install was about 2 hours. Installation was a pain in the *** though. but it sure looks like it came with the car. Everything always comments on it because the button is lighted red and it's right there where the ciggarate plug was.

If you still have to turn the ignition key....whats the point of a button as well?

What made the installation so difficult?

Well keys part is really simple...if you could start the car without the key then anyone could just break your window and take off with your car. It's a security measure.
The installation was difficult because of the dash parts you have to remove and because you have to splice some wires from the electrical system and connect them to the push button.
It was my 1st time dismantling the dash.

Haha.... I understand that you get to push a button to start it - and I would damn sure hope that it required keys and not just the push of a button.

What if they made that button look like the factory plug (but push button functional) and it doubles as a kill switch instead. That would confuse a few of those punks that steal cars.... I would much rather disable my car with a button then start it with one. Just MHO
