Still Pinging After Three Tanks of 93
Well I'm on my forth tank of 93 octane and I'm still hearing some pinging at WOT. I've been kind of holding off on calling Brent but I guess I need to. I'm using a C&L CAI and a 93 tune (both from brenspeed).
Anybody else have a similar issue. I mean it's not the end of the world but I do want to get it fixed. In the mean time I try to avoid WOT or pull back as soon as I hear the pinging. But thats no friggin' fun!
Another issue I have since the tune is that in second and third gear there seems to a spot where the power seems to jump. It's kind of hard to describe but instead of a smooth acceleration there is a point around 2-3K where the power seems to suddenly jump up. If you have the issue you'll know what I'm talking about. And to be honest I dont reacll if I had this issue prior to the tune and dismissed it as the A/C kicking in and out. But now I know it does it with the A/C off as well.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Is the tune you got adjustable? Can you see fuel and spark entries?
If so I recommend adding some more fuel and back off the timing 1 degree at a time until it stops. There should be rpm intervals for such as well, so you can tweak it for the top end only if that is where the pinging is occuring.
Other things you can do is use octane booster and HT0 cooler plugs.
Here's the octane booster to use:

Hope this helps.

I have an issue with the 93 tune being jerky unless at WOT. WOT is nice and smooth, but half throttle or a little throttle in 1st is very jerky. I went back to the 91 tune which didn't have this issue, but have since switched back to 93.
